Sea Trek Curaçao
Walk on the ocean floor at 6 metres depth wearing a special helmet that keeps your head dry. No swimming or diving experience required, suitable for ages 8 and up.
Walk the ocean floor without a diving certificate
Sea Trek is a unique underwater experience where you literally walk on the ocean floor. You wear a special helmet with a constant flow of air, keeping your head completely dry while you breathe normally through your nose and mouth. Just like on land, only surrounded by coral and tropical fish.
The tour departs from Pier Mari Pampoen, next to Surf & Turf restaurant in Willemstad. You descend to about 6 metres depth and walk a marked path through the reef for around 25 minutes, accompanied by an experienced dive guide. From our villa at the Spanish Water it is a 10 minute drive to the departure point, ideal for a morning or afternoon activity.
Special underwater helmet
Constant air supply, head dry, you breathe normally through nose and mouth.
Feed fish on the reef
During the walk you can feed tropical fish that swim around you.
Glasses or contacts allowed
Your head stays dry, so people with glasses or contact lenses can join.
How a Sea Trek tour works
From arrival to your walk on the ocean floor, the whole process step by step.
Arrival and briefing
Arrive 30 minutes before your booked time at Pier Mari Pampoen. You fill in a health form and receive a short briefing on the helmet, underwater communication and safety.
Into the water
From the beach you walk into the water until you are shoulder deep. At that point the dive guides place the helmet on your head. The helmet is heavy above water but lighter once underwater.
25 minutes on the ocean floor
Along a marked route you walk in a group of up to 8 people across the sea floor at 6 metres depth. You see coral, tropical fish and can feed them. The guides walk along with you.
Return and photos
After the walk you come back up and the helmet is removed. Dive guides take photos during the tour that you can download via Dropbox afterwards, often included in the price.

Tips for your Sea Trek tour
Water shoes or flip flops
You walk into the water from the beach. Avoid bare feet because of stones at the waterline.
Reef-safe sunscreen
Apply before arriving at the pier. Regular sunscreen damages the coral in the bay.
Your top half stays dry
Apart from the water itself you have no wet clothing. A towel is enough, no full change of outfit needed.
Camera stays on shore
Personal cameras are not allowed underwater. The dive guides take photos, often included.
Drink water before
It can get warm under the helmet. Being well hydrated helps you feel comfortable.
Combine with Mambo Beach
Mambo Beach is a 10 minute drive away. Good spot for lunch after the tour.
A 10 minute drive from 3 Palabrua
Our villa 3 Palabrua sits right on the Spanish Water in Jan Sofat. Pier Mari Pampoen, where Sea Trek departs, is just a 10 minute drive. Combine a morning tour with lunch at Surf & Turf next to the pier or an afternoon at Mambo Beach nearby.
