A pool that feels spacious, even when the other bungalows are occupied
The Aqualife pool is a shared facility, not a private one. That might sound like a compromise — but in our case it actually works in your favour. The resort has only six bungalows, and most guests are out during the day exploring the island, snorkelling, or dining out. In practice, you'll often have the pool to yourself, especially in the early mornings and evenings.
The pool itself is larger and deeper than most private pools at vacation rentals on Curaçao, with an adjacent lounge area featuring sun loungers under the shade of a palapa. The water is maintained daily by the resort — no filters to clean, no chlorine bottles to carry, no maintenance worries.
For families, this often turns out to be the most convenient setup: children can play safely as the pool isn't exposed to streets or open beach, and as a parent you're never solely responsible for upkeep or safety. For couples, it works differently but just as well — morning laps in the pool, an evening glass of wine by the water.

3 Palabrua is located in Jan Sofat, a gated community on the south side of Curaçao with its own security. The neighbourhood borders Jan Thiel — known for its beach clubs, restaurants and beaches — but Jan Sofat itself is quiet. You'll reach Jan Thiel Beach in ten minutes, the centre of Willemstad in twenty, and the west coast with the island's best snorkelling spots in thirty-five.
The Spanish Water itself is not open sea but a large, sheltered bay. As a result, the water is always calm, and the wind is almost always steady — which is why this area is popular with sailors, kitesurfers and divers. From our jetty you can step straight into the water to snorkel, and the more adventurous can rent a boat from one of the providers on the same bay.
The combination of a pool, direct water access, and the proximity of Jan Thiel makes this place ideal for both a relaxed and an active vacation.
