The Grote Knip is one of the most popular beaches in Cura\u00e7ao, located on the west coast of the island. Also known as ‘Kenepa Beach,’ it is surrounded by rocks and forest, providing plenty of shaded areas. Upon arriving at the Grote Knip, you’ll be greeted with a stunning view of the white sandy beach and crystal-clear blue water.<\/p>\n

A few years ago, UNESCO declared the Grote Knip as the ‘most beautiful beach in the Caribbean.’ It has since become the most photographed beach on the tropical island, and we understand why!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The entrance to Grote Knip is free. Despite being one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, you won’t find mass tourism or many beach clubs. In fact, there is only one simple snack bar on the beach! Additionally, there is a restroom available, which costs one guilder. Beach beds can be rented for 5 to 6 guilders, and a parasol for 7.50 guilders.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Grote Knip is also very popular among the local population. This gives it a truly Caribbean atmosphere. During the weekends, entire families relish in island life on this beach. Children playing, barbecues, bringing their own chairs and coolers \u2013 it’s a delightful sight!<\/p>\n

The underwater world at Grote Knip is not very suitable for snorkeling. The seabed is covered with white sand, providing a beautiful view of the clear sea, but there is almost no coral to be found. However, you can enjoy jumping into the water from the rocks at Grote Knip!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Just before Grote Knip, you’ll find Kleine Knip, and as the name suggests, this beach is much smaller than Grote Knip. It is often quieter here. Kleine Knip is a beautiful spot and suitable for snorkeling.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Convinced to visit the ‘most beautiful beach in the Caribbean’? The address for Grote Knip can be a bit challenging to find, but navigation systems are usually able to locate this beautiful spot. It’s about a small hour’s drive from Willemstad to Grote Knip. Follow the Weg Naar Westpunt, and beyond Tera Kor\u00e1, take a left turn.
